About Us

Prerana Energy Group was formed on 1st May 2009 by a Group of Sixteen (16) Energy Professionals having long experience in diverse energy fields with an objective of working in energy related fields and helping energy professionals. Later, this Group was converted in year 2010 into a registered Society called as The Prerana Energy Professionals’ Co-operative Society Ltd; Pune, (PEPCSL) which is a pioneering Society ‘Of and For’ Energy Professionals. It is the ‘First’ and the ‘Only’ Society of this type not only in Maharashtra; but perhaps also in the Country. 

 

Over the last 13 years, Prerana Energy Society has significantly grown and now has a large team of genuinely committed and dedicated Energy Professionals having Expertise and long experience of working in Energy Conservation, Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, Environmental and Sustainability fields. The Society now has over 40 Members and Associate Members having vast experience varying from 5 years to 50 years with average experience of over 30 years in different disciplines. 

 

The Society offers guidance, expert assistance, consultation and result-oriented services to Energy professionals, Institutions and Organizations and has been serving various Organizations and Institutions in energy field since its formation in year 2010.  

 

The activities & services of the Society have now spread to several areas like Energy Efficiency Improvement in Industries, Energy Efficient Buildings, Renewable Energy Sector Projects, Environmental Issues, Sustainability and Energy Efficient Buildings, Guiding Energy Audit Professionals, Practitioners, and Students etc. The Society  organizes Lectures, Training & Guidance Courses, Webinars, Seminars and Workshops in energy and environment fields and offers specialized Teaching and Training assistance to various Institutions and Colleges which are conducting Masters’ level Courses related to Energy efficiency, Renewable energy, Environment and Sustainable Architecture. The Society has very well qualified, trained and experienced members to undertake Management Development Programs (MDP) for Corporate Sector Executives in Energy, Environment, Carbon footprint, Net Zero areas and Government initiatives/ reforms.

 

Since the major objective of Prerana Energy Society is to help Energy Professionals, Energy firms, Educational Institutions and Students from Energy & Environment fields, the Society decided to encourage their activities and reward achievements & performance of these categories. In the year 2019, the Society decided to start with encouraging Students pursuing Masters’ level courses in Energy Management & Audit, Energy Systems, Renewable energy & Environment by giving Energy Prizes.  

 

Right from the beginning the Society was closely associated with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), New Delhi at the National level, Maharashtra Energy Development (MEDA), Pune at the State level and reputed Organizations in the energy field like MCCIA, WISE, IEI-Pune LC & PIC for their activities and programs in Pune.
